We want to give a huge thanks to the Governor's Mansion Inn for hosting the streaming and our officiant, Vicky Jones, a Unitarian Universalist Lay Minister whom we have gotten to know and love over the last year. You can read the text that she wrote for our ceremony here.

Maya and Stephen

The Couple

Maya and Stephen met in Madison, WI. Maya was working at Epic and Stephen was in grad school. They connected when Maya picked up a friend's phone and happened to see a text from Stephen: "Am I crazy to think I have a chance with Maya?" He wasn't. The rest is history.
They now live with Astra, Lyra, and Luna, the cats, in Hyde Park, Chicago. They enjoy cooking, bouldering, and exploring the city together.

Maya:

A Bay Area native, Maya grew up performing in high school theater, devouring young adult novels, and backpacking in the mountains. In her free time, she enjoys reading, spending time with friends, and listening to podcasts. Maya is now an MD/PhD student at the University of Chicago.

Stephen:

A Canadian-American, Stephen grew up hiking and canoeing in Maine before landing in the Midwest for college. In his free time, he enjoys reading, indoor cycling, and setting up smart home features. Stephen is currently a data scientist at Capital One.

The Cats:

The smallest members of the family are the three cats. Astra, the elder is a floofy tabby cat and a picky eater. Although shy, Astra has already made a spot for herself in the home and never says no to a few head scratches. Lyra and Luna are the newest members of the household. These playful kittens enjoy climbing, chasing, and cuddling!
